It’s the go-to navigational app for many people around the world, and now Google Maps has caught a man on camera in a rather awkward position.

Eagle-eyed Reddit users spotted the man in a recent image taken by Google’s Street View camera, on a street in Ile-de-France.

At first glance you may not spot him, as the main focus of the image is a line of cars dotted along the street.

However, on closer inspection, you’ll see the man lying on the ground with his hands over his head, likely having fallen asleep after a night on the town.

Several viewers sympathised with the man, having been in similar situations themselves.

One user wrote: “Oh I’ve definitely been there. He must’ve had a pounding headache when he woke up!”

Another wrote: “Nothing like a full on bender and waking up on a quiet morning trying to recount what took place over the last 24 hours.”

Google Maps’ Street View feature launched back in 2005, and allows you to see panoramic images of different locations.

To try it out for yourself, open the Google Maps app, and search for a place or drop a pin on the map.

At the bottom of the app, tap the place name or address, then scroll down and select the photo labeled ‘Street View.’

You’ll then be shown a street-level view of that location, which you can manoeuvre around by swiping the screen.

When you’re done, tap back and you’ll be taken back to the main Maps view.
