A northern suburbs robber had a sugary appetite, stealing money and leaving with lollies after threatening servo staff with a hammer.

The young man, described as being in his late teens, entered the North East Rd service station at Holden Hill before 11pm last night and demanded money before leaving with confectionary.

He was last seen heading north on foot.

Police searched the area but could not find the suspect.

The young man was wearing Chicago Bulls black shorts, a long sleeved dark t-shirt and a face mask.
