Bihar: Four Nalanda cops held for stealing liquor

Four Nalanda policemen and driver of a SUV were arrested on Thursday evening for allegedly stealing liquor from the police station, which was seized from an abandoned truck on Tuesday.

BIHARSHARIF: Four Nalanda policemen and driver of a SUV were arrested on Thursday evening for allegedly stealing liquor from the police station, which was seized from an abandoned truck on Tuesday.
On a tip-off that some policemen of Harnaut police station were selling liquor, Nalanda SP Nilesh Kumar went there and ordered a thorough search, in which 91 bottles of India-made foreign liquor (IMFL) were recovered from the room of driver Ajit Kumar Yadav and 72 bottles were recovered from the barracks of havildars Shashi Bhushan and Shiv Balak Bhatia and constables Ramji Choudhry and Chandra Bhushan Yadav.
Nalanda SP Nilesh said the arrested cops were sent to jail.
The entire operation was carried out in full secrecy as the gates of the police station were locked and no one was allowed to come in and go out till the recovery of the liquor and arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, Harnaut police station SHO Chandrashekhar that 262 cartoons of Jharkhand- manufactured IMFL were recovered from a truck parked near Chandi Mor on Tuesday.
