As you read this, the team of Ashwathama has moved into post-production. The superhero film, to be helmed by National Award-winning director Aditya Dhar, will star National Award winner Vicky Kaushal. The film’s team is expected to head to Warwick, England, for discussions with a technical team. Plans are afoot to tie loose ends on the special effects and location front on the same trip.

Beaming at the mention of his next film, Aditya told us, “Ashwathama is with Vicky Kaushal and it’s a superhero film. With this film, my team and I are really looking forward to putting out a great movie for everyone to watch. As an industry, I want Bollywood to compete with the rest of the world and be at par with the rest of the industries in terms of technical brilliance. We have started our pre-production work and we will start doing reccees to find perfect locations for the shoot.”
The filmmaker, and several members of his team, including Vicky, have been nominated for Uri: The Surgical Strike in several categories at the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards, due on February 15. Talking about it, he said, “Knowing the hard work and strain we went through, it does not matter to me if people in my team win or lose. I’ve seen them work and I have immense faith in them. They pulled off Uri: The Surgical Strike effortlessly.”
