KOLKATA: A 23-year-old woman, who arrived at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport from Bangkok on Sunday, was sent to hospital for quarantine and observation after thermal screening at the airport detected fever.
The
Howrah resident became the first passenger to be sent from the Kolkata airport since the novel
coronavirus scare began.
She had gone to Thailand on vacation as a part of a group, and had a temperature of 99.5 °F.
She is now under observation at the Beliaghata ID hospital. Officials said she didn’t have any history of travel to China, clarifying it was a “routine procedure”.
