Tech Giants Sony And Amazon To Back Off From MWC 2020 Barcelona

After ZTE and LG Amazon and Sony now announced to pull out from Mobile World Congress MWC 2020, the reasons for backing off from the annual mobile world congress is obvious, the threat of Coronavirus is lurking around and the world is getting conscious about it slowly.

The United Kingdom today said, “Coronavirus is posing a serious and imminent threat to public health in the UK.”

Now the tech giants have started taking practical actions, LG was the first to announce pulling out from MWC 2020 conference followed by ZTE Chinese manufacturer. Today Sony has organized a press conference in which the company said, “Sony has been closely monitoring the changing situation if the novel coronavirus outbreak, the disease is declared a global emergency by WHO. We consider the safety and health a top priority of our customers, employees, stakeholders, and partners, this is a difficult decision though, not to participate in the conference in Barcelona, however, it is for the wellbeing of all.”

Sony has not changed the schedule of its press conference which was to take place on Monday morning 8:30 AM CET on February 24, 2020, in Barcelona, Sony said the conference would go live on the internet at the same time.

Amazon also confirms pulling out from the popular event MWC 2020, the company has the same concerns as other tech giants. After joining the pool, the number of companies pulling out of the MWC 2020 conference has increased, here is the list of companies pulling out of MWC 2020
