CRPF DG meets martyred jawan’s family in Bhojpur

The Director General (DG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), A P Maheshwari, on Monday visited Dev Tola, the native village of martyred jawan Ramesh Ranjan, under Jagdishpur block in Bhojpur district. The CRPF jawan had died fighting with the terrorists on the outskirts of Srinagar in Kashmir on February 5. Ramesh had joined the CRPF in 2011.

ARA: The Director General (DG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), A P Maheshwari, on Monday visited Dev Tola, the native village of martyred jawan Ramesh Ranjan, under Jagdishpur block in Bhojpur district. The CRPF jawan had died fighting with the terrorists on the outskirts of Srinagar in Kashmir on February 5. Ramesh had joined the CRPF in 2011.
The DG met the martyr's father, Radhamohan Singh, a retired sub-inspector, his mother Sumitra Devi and wife Baby Devi and consoled them.
He also offered floral tributes to the martyr.
Talking to mediapersons, Maheshwari said: “The forces as well as the entire country are with the martyr’s s family. We are proud of our martyred jawan. According to the rules of the government of India, all benefits and help that a martyr’s family deserves, are being given to Ramesh’s family.”
He added: “The martyr’s wife will get a job in CRPF as per the rules and her wish. As per the Prime Minister’s instructions, the school from where the martyred jawan has studied will be named after him and a function should be held in that school in his honour, so that the children could get inspiration for serving the country. We are also sending a proposal to the government of India for awarding a gallantry medal to Ramesh.”
Maheshwari said a high-level committee of the government will take a decision on the proposal for the gallantry medal.
Meanwhile, Ramesh’s father demanded that a memorial be constructed in honour of his son. The DG said: “Your son sacrificed his life after killing two terrorists. We all are very proud of him. We will do all things possible to accord him due honour.”
