Share market update: Media shares mixed; Inox Leisure surges 7%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of Inox Leisure (up 7.53 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 2.5 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 2.28 per cent), TV Today Network (up 1.78 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (up 1.14 per cent), Balaji Telefilms (up 1.13 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 0.26 per cent), Music Broadcast (up 0.19 per cent) and PVR (up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Saregama India (down 1.07 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 0.67 per cent), DB Corp (down 0.58 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.68 per cent up at 1828.25 around 11:40 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 109.30 points at 12140.8 , while the BSE Sensex was up 346.29 points at 41325.91 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, ITC, NALCO, SBI, GAIL, BHEL and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
