65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020: Govinda receives Excellence In Cinema award

Govinda was honoured with the Excellence In Cinema award at the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020. With over three decades in the industry, the actor has been entertaining fans with some truly entertaining comedy acts on the silver screen. From ‘Dulhe Raja’ to ‘Raja Babu’ and ‘Coolie No 1’, Govinda has entertained in more ways than one. As he received the special honour, Govinda was accompanied by wife Sunita Ahuja and daughter Tina at the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020, hosted in Awesome Assam this year.

Earlier, Govinda indulged in a candid moment with Varun Dhawan. As part of his act, Varun ran to Govinda and asked him to sing a song replace ‘Dil’ with the word ‘Chaddi’. A sporting Govinda sang, ‘chaddi mein rehne do...’, leaving the rest the imagination and it was truly hilarious.
Interestingly, Varun Dhawan has stepped into Govinda’s role for new age ‘Coolie No 1’. The film features Varun romancing Sara Ali Khan. ‘Coolie No 1’ is set to hit the screens on May 1.
