3 held for illegal bird sale in Nalgonda

Forest department arrested three persons in Rahmathnagar, Nalgonda for selling Lesser Whistling Teals, Sandpipers and Painted Snipes, that are listed under schedule IV of Wildlife Act, 1972. The forest department seized 15 from Taviaaboina Saidulu. Singam Seenaiah and Singam Saidamma.
“The accused are fishermen who were not aware of the Wildlife Act. We have decided to impose a compounded fine of Rs 50,000 on the three,” said Shantha Rao, divisional forest officer of Nalgonda .TNN
