65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020: Aditya Dhar on winning Best Debut Director for Uri: The Surgical Strike
The 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 took place in Awesome Assam on Feb 15 at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. The event that had the presence of Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Varun Dhawan among others had the audience gripped. The performances received thunderous applauds by the audience who were stunned seeing the breathtaking dance acts set up by well-known choreographer Shiamak Davar.
From among the many categories of awards, one segment celebrated the efforts of debut directors. The black lady for the category went to Aditya Dhar. The Bollywood newbie directed Uri: The Surgical Strike. When BT met Aditya backstage, the director while flaunting his trophy said, "When we were making the film, the only intention at that time was to make a film dedicated to the Indian army. The intention was right. The moment we got to know I got this award, it was the most surreal moment of my life. From within this category, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Saand Ki Aankh and Mission Mangal were also most deserving." The 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 will air on Colors Cineplex on Feb 22 at 7.30 pm.
