Chartered aircraft enroute to Bellary from Mysuru makes emergency landing in Anantapur
A chartered aircraft made an emergency landing in Anantapur district on Monday morning.
TIRUPATI: A chartered aircraft on its way to Bellary from Mysuru, made an emergency landing in Anantapur district on Monday morning.
According to Kalyandurg rural police inspector Suresh Babu, a chartered single engine aircraft Cirrus SR 22 (VT-VDN), leased out by JSW Steel Ltd was on its way to Bellary from Mysuru, when the aircraft developed a technical snag, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at the agricultural fields at Eradikera village in Brahmasamudram mandal of Anantapur district at around 9.30am on Monday.

The aircraft which took off at Mysuru reportedly hit a technical snag in the fuel supply, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing near Eradikera village, close to the Karnataka border.
Kalyandurg rural police who rushed to the spot after learning about the incident confirmed there were no casualties in the incident. Police sources said apart from the pilot identified as Pathak, there was one senior staffer of the company.
It is learnt that the aircraft was on a trial run when it developed a technical snag and had to land on an emergency note. Technical staff from Bengaluru were learnt to have left for Eradikera village to get the aircraft back on its flight by Tuesday.
Meanwhile, curious onlookers from nearby villagers too queued up to the spot to see the aircraft at Eradikera village.
The Cirrus SR 22 (VT-VDN) aircraft with 310 hp engine is equipped with the Cirrus airframe parachute system (CAPS), which can lower the aircraft to the ground gently in case of an emergency.
