Sudbury Theatre Centre is ready to bring you some of your favourite stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood in “From Judy To Bette: The Stars of Old Hollywood,” Feb. 20-29.

The show is created and performed by Rebecca Perry with piano accompaniment by David Kingsmill, direction by Michael Rubinstein, scenography by Claire Hill, and musical direction by David Kingsmill and Quinton Naughton.

Rebecca Perry weaves together scandalous headlines, iconic songs, and guides audiences on a journey through the groundbreaking careers of four screen legends of yesteryear: Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, Bette Davis, and Betty Hutton, all strong women who refused to be "just another doe-eyed ingénue" during the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Each broke the mold by taking Hollywood's studio system to task, opening doors that had previously been firmly shut for women in the industry.

Rebecca Perry is a Toronto-based playwright, performer, and producer. Her solo shows have toured from coast to coast in Canada, all around the UK, and to the Republic of Ireland.

From Judy to Bette: The Stars of Old Hollywood is her most recent work, and has just returned from a very successful run at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where she received four- and five-star reviews and audience acclaim.

Rebecca has also toured Canada and the US with Roseneath Theatre's Dora Award-winning show, The Money Tree, and stars in the Canadian Comedy Award-winning web-series A Gay Victorian Affair, which is preparing to film its second season. She also works in film and TV, and her work can be seen on Netflix, Amazon Prime, the Super Channel, T+E, and more. She has also done voiceover work for several animated films and cartoons.

“From Judy To Bette: The Stars of Old Hollywood” runs 10 performances only.

Purchase tickets by phoning or visiting the STC DiBrina Box Office at 705-674-8381, ext. 21, located at 170 Shaughnessy St. in Downtown Sudbury, or online at sudburytheatre.com.
