The best of British and international music was celebrated at the Brit Awards tonight in a star-studded ceremony.

A host of gongs celebrating the best of music over the previous year were up for grabs.

Tributes were paid to celebrity Caroline Flack, who took her own life at the weekend, with host Jack Whitehall calling her a "kind and vibrant person with an infectious sense of fun".

He added: “She will be sorely missed. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that our thoughts are with her friends and family”.

British singer Mabel opened the awards with a performance of her song Don’t Call Me Up, with other performances from stars including Harry Styles and Lizzo.

Billie Eilish also performed the theme tune for the new James Bond film, No Time To Die, live for the first time.
