Traffic diversion in Nashik on account of Shiv Jayanti celebrations

The city police has effected traffic diversion on account of the traditional Shiv Jayanti procession in the old city area on Wednesday. The birth anniversary celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is celebrated at a mass scale in the city.

NASHIK: The city police has effected traffic diversion on account of the traditional Shiv Jayanti procession in the old city area on Wednesday.
All vehicular traffic would be diverted from the procession route from 12 noon onwards till the end of it. The birth anniversary celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is celebrated at a mass scale in the city.
The procession starts from Wakadi Barav (Chowk Mandai) Jahangir Masjid and passes through Dadasaheb Phalke Road, Mahatma Phule Market, Abdul Hamid Chowk, Bhadrakali Market, Badshahi Corner, Gadage Maharaj Statue, Main Road, Dhumal Point, Sangli Bank Signal, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Meher Signal, Swami Vivekanand Road (old Agra road), Ashok Stambh, Navin Tambat Ali, Raviwar Karanja, Holkar Bridge, Malegaon Stand, Panchavati Karanja, Malviya Chowk, Parshuram Puriya Road and end at Ramkund.

The police said that no vehicles including all handcarts, bullock carts, bicycles, motorcycles and other motor vehicles will be allowed on the aforesaid stretch.
Meanwhile, the State Transport (ST) buses starting from Panchavati ST depot number 2, Nimani Bus Stand and Panchavati Karanja would instead start from Panchavati depot. Further, all the buses and other vehicles coming from Ozar, Dindori, Peth side would use the Adgaon Naka, Kannamwar Bridge to reach Dwarka and proceed towards Nashik Road or other parts of the city.
Meanwhile, the motorists moving towards Panchavati will be diverted from Dwarka Circle going towards Kannamwar Bridge to move towards Panchavati.

The police said that ban will not be applicable for police vehicles, ambulances, hearse and fire brigade vehicles.
Traffic Diversion in Nashik Road
Various programmes related to Shiv Jayanti have been organised in the Nashik Road area near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue from Tuesday to Saturday. While on Wednesday the traditional procession would be carried out from Bytco Junction, Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue, Railway Station and Mutkidham Satkar point, the police would not allow any kind of vehicle from 12 pm onwards on Wednesday till the end of the procession.
Meanwhile, on the backdrop of the cultural programmes to be held near the Shivaji Statue from 5 pm to 10 pm between Tuesday and Saturday, the police have appealed to the motorists to use other routes.
All the ST buses and city buses from Nashik city side moving towards Nashik Road Railway Station Bus Stand would take a right turn form the Datta Mandir signal, pass from the Datta Mandir road till Surana Hospital and reach the railway station via Anand Nagari T Point and Satkar Point.
Buses from the Railway Station Bus Stand would take the Subhash Road and take the same route back towards Datta Mandir and move elsewhere.
The police said that buses from the Railway Station Bus Stand to CBS would also, take the Artillery Road and move towards Upnagar Signal from Jai Bhavani junction. While vehicles from Nashik towards Pune would take the Veer Sawarkar flyover from Datta Mandir Singal to move towards Sinnar Phata and proceed further.
