CHENNAI: Three people were killed while nine more were injured in a crane accident on the set of actor Kamal Haasan's upcoming film 'Indian 2' on Wednesday, police said.
Haasan was unharmed, film industry sources said to PTI, adding that the injured were undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The accident took at suburban Nazrathpet when the crane employed to erect the set crashed, killing three and leaving nine injured, police said, without divulging further details.
The shoot was underway at a private cinema studio, they added.
In a series of tweets (in Tamil language), Haasan also mourned the death of his three colleagues. He wrote, "More than my pain, the grief of the family who lost them will be manifold. I take part in their misery as one of them."
The 'Chachi 420' star also spoke to doctors who are treating the injured. He confirmed that the appropriate treatment has been given to them. "Let them dawn tonight with the hope that they will get better soon," he concluded.
