M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate a three-day platinum jubilee celebration of Andhra Vidyabhi Vardhini (AVV) institutions on February 23.
Speaking to reporters, Chanda Vijaykumar, executive chairman AVV Sangham and N Narsimha Rao, president of the society, said the AVV Sangham was formed in Nizam’s era in 1944, and has successfully completed 75 years of rendering service to the needy.
Business legends and well-known personalities in Warangal had convinced the Nizam and established a Telugu medium school when education was given in Urdu medium. Many political leaders were educated in this college. State planning commission vice-president Vinod Kumar and retired IAS officer Papapa Rao are alumni of the institute. --Shiva Kumar Pinna
