If you use a Samsung Galaxy phone then you may have experienced a weird notification pop up on your screen this morning.

Users from around the world are reporting a strange ‘1’ popping up from Samsung’s ‘Find My Mobile’ app.

Samsung responded a couple of hours later to say it was an internal test.

The company put out a tweet saying that it was sent unintentionally and that it will have ‘no effect’ on anyone’s devices.

‘Recently, a notification about “Find My Mobile 1” occurred on a limited number of Galaxy devices,’ the company said.

‘This was sent unintentionally during an internal test and there is no effect on your device. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers.’

It still caused a fair amount of confusion on the internet though.

Staffers here at Metro.co.uk confirmed receiving the weird notification this morning as well.

Perhaps Samsung is doing some internal testing as a result of just launching a slew of new gadgets.

The South Korean company recently launched the Galaxy Z Flip which features a large screen on the inside which can be viewed by unfolding the device. Samsung said the device ‘changes everything’ and is a ‘statement smartphone for trailblazers’.

People who buy the phone will be given a free YouTube Premium membership. It will cost £1,300 and has a 6.7-inch folding display made of ultra-thin glass.
