UMass Memorial Health Care welcomes 4 doctors

Dr. Adepeju Champion

WORCESTER — UMass Memorial Health Care has welcomed four new doctors: Dr. Adepeju Champion, Dr. Han Li, Dr. Alexandra Marchetta and Dr. Pascal Scemama de Gialluly.

Champion is an internal medicine physician. She earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina, and completed a residency program at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. Champion specializes in internal medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus. She is board certified in internal medicine. Her clinical interests include adult primary and preventive care, community internal medicine and inpatient-outpatient transitions in care.

Li is a transplant surgeon. He earned his medical degree from the Inner Mongolian University for the Nationalities, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. He completed general surgery residency programs at Northwell Health-Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York, and Michigan State University College Human Medicine, East Lansing, Michigan. He completed an abdominal transplantation fellowship at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minnesota. Li specializes in hepatobiliary surgery/transplant surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus. His clinical interests include hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, liver transplant, living donor liver and kidney transplants.

Marchetta is an internal medicine physician. She earned her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed an internal medicine residency program at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Marchetta specializes in internal medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center — University and Memorial campuses and at UMass Memorial — Marlborough Hospital. Marchetta is board certified in internal medicine. Her clinical interests include adult primary and preventive care, hospital medicine and LGBTQ health.

Scemama de Gialluly is an anesthesiology/pain medicine physician. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, in Newark, New Jersey, and his MBA from University of Michigan. He completed an anesthesiology residency program and a pain medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Scemama de Gialluly specializes in anesthesiology and pain medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center — Memorial Campus and UMass Memorial Health Care and Shields Health Care Group, Shrewsbury. Scemama de Gialluly is board certified in anesthesiology and anesthesiology/pain medicine. His clinical interests include regional anesthesia, the treatment of acute pain, the prevention and treatment of chronic pain after surgery, the use of neuromodulation (spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulators) to treat chronic pain and minimally invasive techniques to treat spine-related pain.
