Ocean freeholders endorse Gibbs

Two Ocean County freeholders have endorsed Kate Gibbs for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.

The backing of Ginny Haines and Gary Quinn follow a vote to support Gibbs by the Ocean County GOP screening committee on Saturday and comes in advance of next month’s convention to award the organization line.

“Kate Gibbs is a proven conservative with a record of cutting property taxes,” Haines and Quinn said. “She is the only Republican candidate with the local, state and national party support to defeat Andy Kim in November and help President Trump take back the House.”

Gibbs won the endorsement of the screening committee over three other candidates seeking the Republican nomination to oppose Kim: former Hill International CEO David Richter, Barnegat mayor John Novak, and former Hainesport mayor Tony Porto.

Haines is also the Republican National Committeewoman from New Jersey.
