On the auspicious festival of 'Maha Shivratri', which translates to 'the greatest night of Shiva', Bollywood’s biggest stars extended their warm wishes and greetings to all fans and devotees.
The festival, which is one of the most religious celebrations, is observed by devotees of Lord Shiva in different parts of the country. On the darkest night of the year, devotees stay awake and offer prayers, perform rituals and pay obeisance to seek blessings.
It is observed every year during the 14th day of the Maagha or Phalguna month (February-March), according to the Panchang, the Hindu calendar.
On this auspicious day, the faithful offer prayers to Lord Shiva to help them overcome the darkness in their lives.
