Manchester United are busy preparing for their Premier League clash this weekend at home to Watford and naturally there is a lot to talk about ahead of the fixture.

When it comes to the Reds, news is not exactly few and far between but sometimes even things get passed by somewhat.

Here we attempt to round-up some of the bits that might have passed you by across the morning into one package.

Here are the latest headlines on United this morning.

Ighalo's record

Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo can equal Frank Lampard's goal record this weekend.

Ighalo could make his first appearance at Old Trafford since joining the club from Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day.

The 30-year-old could well equal a record set by Frank Lampard on Sunday.

He could become the first player to score on their home Premier League debut having previously played for the opponents since Lampard did so against Chelsea in 2014.

Savage's transfer prediction

Meanwhile, Robbie Savage has issued a transfer prediction about the club.

He believes United are just three signings away from 'becoming challengers' under current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"Green shoots of recovery have often been hard to find in Manchester United’s patchy season – but they are only three signings away from challenging Liverpool and Manchester City," Savage explained in his Mirror Football column.

"That may seem a bold statement about a team who have lost against Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Newcastle, West Ham, Watford and Burnley this season.

"But here’s a thought – and United fans are welcome to tell me if I’m barking up the wrong tree.

"If Solskjaer was handed £250 million to go out and sign central defender Kalidou Koulibaly, playmaker Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho up front, Solskjaer’s best team would be capable of giving Liverpool and Manchester City a run for their money next season."

BBC pundits on Pogba situation

Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United is up in doubt and it has led to opinions aplenty, especially after the recent saga with his agent Mino Raiola and Solskjaer.

Former Manchester City star Shaun Wright-Phillips and ex-Newcastle United man Kieron Dyer were interviewed about the subject on Friday evening and here is what they had to say.

Wright-Phillips told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport's The Friday Football Social: "It (loud agent) can be good and bad.

"But me personally, I would rather he was in the background handling my business."

Dyer added: "He (Raiola) is putting a lot of pressure on Pogba but I like the fact that he doesn't have an allegiance with Man United.

"He works for Paul Pogba and protects him. You have to commend him for that.

"But Pogba has now got to show something when he comes back because his agent is setting him up for quite a fall."
