Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car was set on fire near Caernarfon overnight.

The car was discovered burnt out in Dinas Dinlle on Saturday morning.

North Wales Police are now appealing for information and want to speak to anyone who saw a silver Ford Fiesta driving "anti-socially" in the Caernarfon area on Friday night.

A tweet by North Wales Police said: " North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have been advised of a vehicle fire overnight at Dinas Dinlle and would like to speak to anyone who saw a silver Ford Fiesta driving antisocially in the Caernarfon area on the evening of Friday 21 in to the morning of Saturday 22.

"If you have any information, please contact 101 and quote Y025439."

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene but the fire was already out on their arrival.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We received the call at 7:47am and one crew from Caernarfon attended.

"The fire was out on arrival and we did not need to use any equipment.

"The vehicle sustained 100% fire damage."
