Andy King has been a model pro at Premier League and interntional level, so when he describes one of his Huddersfield Town teammates as "brilliant" you sit up and take notice.

The 31-year-old King - a Swansea City loanee two years ago - has been at the John Smith's Stadium for just over a month and has been hugely impressed by the force of nature which is Lewis O'Brien.

King and O'Brien started together for the first time in the 1-1 draw at Derby County, but King has kept an eye on everything the 21-year-old has done both in matches and in training.

"He's been brilliant from what I've seen," said King, who is hoping to do well enough with Town this season to make the Wales squad for the European Championships.

"He has done brilliant in all of the games and he is left-footed as well which always helps, because there are not so many of those out there.

"I think he has already shown his versatility by, before I came, playing at left back, and he has played left midfield, No10, centre midfield and, as a young player, it's great to have that versatility which helps your development."

King added: "I think he has done well in all of those positions and, like I say, from what I have seen he's been brilliant, so I'm sure he's got a really big career ahead of him.

"He's got a really good head on his shoulders, he won't get carried away and he's got the appetite to work hard - which is vital for any young player.

"You can have all the ability in the world but, if you are not prepared to work, then it's going to be a stumbling block.

"He certainly has the appetite to work and that's why it's so good to see him doing so well this season."

King has also been impressed by O'Brien's energy and staying power in matches.

"He's a fit lad," remarked King with a smile.

"He's one of those who seems to be good at everything.

"He's good at yoga, he's good in the gym, he's good at running and he's good at football.

"I'm sure if you took him to play tennis or golf he would be good at that as well, but he's a really likeable lad with a great attitude not just to football but to life as well, so it's great to see him doing so well."
