UF employee charged with child porn

A University of Florida data entry analyst was arrested Thursday on allegations he shared multiple photos of child pornography.

Timothy Christoper Turner Jr., 26, of 1634 NW 19th Lane, was charged with three counts of promoting the sexual performance of a child following an investigation that began when the gaming and communications app Discord discovered the images.

Discord passed the images and other information on to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which notified local law enforcement, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report.

Using the internet protocol address as a start, police eventually tracked the Discord images to Turner, the report states.

Turner allegedly admitted to police that he got the images from a Discord server and later shared them to another Discord server.
