Pierce Kagari Emata received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, coaching with notable concert artists. He appeared the renown Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, broadcast across the United States from Chicago, and has concertized extensively throughout the U.S. Mr. Emata serves on the summer piano faculty at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, a summer school that brings students across the performing and visual arts from 50 countries, presenting master classes and private lessons.
Very active as a teacher, master class presenter, and juror for various competitions and festivals across the U.S., Mr. Emata served on the jury for the 2017 India Musiquest Piano Competition, where he returned in 2019 to tour.
The concert will feature Chopin’s Barcarolle in F-Sharp Major, Op. 60; Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin; Mozart’s Rondo in A Minor, F. 511 and Bartok’s Dance Suite. Masterlcass to follow. |
