On Saturday, Feb. 29, a dinner theater fund-raising evening will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua meeting house at 222 Temple St. in Fredonia.

Hors d’oeuvres and wine will start the evening at 4:30 p.m., followed by a hearty dinner with both vegan and roast turkey entrees at 5:30 p.m. Following the performance, desserts and drinks will be available for purchase as the event engages in a lively discussion of the theater piece and what it says about our world. Tickets are available for $25 per person or $40 per couple and may be purchased at https://uucncdinnertheater.brownpapertickets.com. A small number of tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds will benefit UUCNC.

“Four Monologues” by Jon Robin Baitz wrestles with some of the toughest issues in our society. Censorship, homosexuality, city vs. country and public arts funding are all issues you will hear about from the four actors cast in this inspired piece of theater for people of all backgrounds.

The organizations hopes attendees will leave with a feeling of inspiration, by finding common ground among these stories and each other.

Raleigh Hawk

The four local actors performing are Hilda Myer-Post, Calypso Sky, Raleigh Hawk, and Phillip McMullen.

Hilda Myer-Post, an actor and singer, was raised in Fredonia and now lives in Buffalo. When not on stage, Myer-Post works as a User Experience Designer at a software company and loves to spend time with her wonderful partner and their three cats.

Calypso Sky is ajunior Theater Arts major with a minor in Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia. Performing since first grade, Sky comes from a family of drama majors. He loves K-pop, and is learning K-pop dances, German and Korean. Sky also sings in an off-campus choir.

Raleigh Hawk has been a fan of acting since his first production with the Fredonia High School Drama Club in 2005. Hawk has enjoyed working on and off as an actor for several years. He currently works as the Acting Ticketing and Customer Service Manager with the Rockefeller Arts Center.

Phillip McMullen is an active performer and educator throughout Chautauqua County where he teaches middle and high school music. McMullen founded and directs the Trinity Masterworks Choir, serves as music director for Playground Drama Camp and performs regularly with Shakespeare on the Lake. Some of his favorite roles include Duke Orsino in “Twelfth Night,” Tybalt in “Romeo and Juliet,” and Polonius in “Hamlet.”

Calypso Sky

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in our immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life’s sacred journey. Its worship services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. at 222 Temple St., Fredonia.
