Patricia Pennington

On Saturday, February 8, peacefully at home, Patricia, aged 80.

Beloved wife of Ian, much loved mum of Jane and Lee, cherished grandma of Niall, Bridie, Maisie, Isla, Ivan and Flynn Billy.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 28, at St James the Less RC Church, Rawtenstall at 1pm, followed by committal at Accrington Crematorium at 3pm.

John Bury

John Bury

Beloved husband and dad, John Bury, passed away peacefully in Blackburn Royal on Friday, February 7, leaving his widow Florence.

John, aged 85, was a devoted family man and was married to Florence for over 62 years and lived in Helmshore all of his life.

John’s devotion to Florence and his family and the love and support he gave to others over his long and happy life was quite amazing - he was loved by many.

A plumber by trade, John spent many years of his working life at Porritts Textiles in Helmshore, which later became P&S Filtration.

In a world where genuine love and respect seem hard to come by, John Bury was a shining light and his passing has brought immense sorrow to Florence and his three sons Ian, Alan and Paul and their families, including seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as his nieces, nephews and of course his many friends.

John will be sadly missed.

The funeral will take place with a celebration of John’s life at Haslingden Methodist Church on Friday, February 21 at 10am, followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium.

Anthony Bowden

Mr Anthony Bowden, of Daffodil Close, Helmshore, died on Saturday, February 15 at his home, aged 70.

He leaves his wife Margaret, son Jonathan, daughter Kirsty, granddaughters Isabella, Betsey and Rosa and brother Peter.

Anthony settled in Rossendale over 40 years ago.

He was a well travelled gentleman, being an International Business Consultant throughout his working life and an avid fan and season ticket holder of Manchester United, attending games here and abroad.

The funeral will take place on Friday, February 28, with service and cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am officiated by Fr John Broadley.

Irene Tattersall

Irene Tattersall

Mrs Irene Tattersall, of Crawshawbooth, passed away peacefully at Blackburn Royal Hospital after a short illness, on Wednesday, February 12, aged 72.

Born in Rossendale, Irene lived on Spring Terrace, Goodshawfold, with her parents Elsie and Robert Pownall.

She worked at Inghams Box Works, where she met her husband Raymond of 45 years.

She worked at various care homes around Rossendale and finished her working life as a cleaner at St James Medical Centre.

Irene was a real home bird, but her real passions were her grandchildren, Neve and Luke, who she worshipped.

She was a well loved and popular lady who had many friends who thought of her dearly.

She leaves husband Raymond, daughter Michelle, son-in-law Spencer, grandchildren Neve and Luke, brothers Michael and Eddie and their partners, sister Kathleen and her partner and many nieces and nephews.

Irene’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 26 at 12.15pm, with a celebration of life service at Fred Hamer’s, Rawtenstall, followed by burial at Rawtenstall Cemetery.

Afterwards, refreshments will be held at the White Bull, Crawshawbooth.

Jeffrey Revill

Jeffrey Revill

Mr Jeffrey Revill, of Malvern Way, Helmshore, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, aged 72.

He started his career at EMI Records in 1971, working with some top artists at the time.

He then joined John Lord Flooring as a sales director, before retiring in 2012.

Jeffrey was a keen golfer and in the last eight years loved spending time at their caravan in North Wales.

He was also a member of Kay Street Baptist Church in Rawtenstall.

Husband of Barbara, father of Beth and Jonathan, father-in-law of Paul and Meredith, and grandfather of Amy, Jack and Harry, Arran, Brodie and Celyn.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27, led by Rev Matt Hirst at Accrington Crematorium at 11.40am, followed by wake at Rossendale Golf Club. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Leukaemia UK.
