Masari shuts mysterious ’healing home’

Katsina Governor Aminu Bello Masari has ordered the immediate closure of a traditional ‘’healing home’’ located at Tashar Wali in Dutsi Local Government area of the state

Masari, who was returning to katsina after condolence visits to Daura and Dutsi Local Government Areas, had an unscheduled stop over at the home while on his way back from Daura where he was shocked with what he met on ground.

It was learnt claims by the owner of the healing home that his activities were authorised by the state government and he is capable of curing all ailments shocked the Governor.

Masari also directed Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ya’u Umar Gojo-gojo to immediately summon the Head of Administration of Dutsi local government and Marusan Katsina, who is also the District Head of Dutsi, to ascertain claims by the traditional healer, Mallam Sada Salihu, that the local authorities were aware of his operating the healing home.

The Governor took time to go round the home and was further alarmed that the home was not properly and hygienically kept.

In one of the rooms, he had to retrace because of a consistent pungent odour that was oozing out from that room.

When asked about the content of the room, Mallam Sada Salihu was unable to provide any satisfactory explanation.

The Governor was further shocked by the caliber of persons patronising the home which included an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP (name withheld) who claimed he was receiving spiritual attention from the healer.

During questioning by the Governor, the healer insisted that the odour coming out from the room was from the materials used in writing quotations and messages drawn from the scripture of the holy Qur’an, which he also used to washing his customers, who were mostly women, after which he usually asked them to drink it for healing purposes.

Masari lamented that people visiting the home could end up being inflicted with various ailments since according to him ‘’not even a pit latrine exist here’’.

The Nation further observed that hundreds of women patronize the healing home with a few number of men seen during the visit by the Governor.
