Guwahati: Questions like “draw the symbol of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), examine any four negative traits of Jawaharlal Nehru’s approach to Nation Building” were some questioned asked in the class 12th exam in Manipur. This has sent opposition parties in Manipur tongue lashing the government.

These question were asked during the examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).

Congress legislature and Manipur congress spokesperson Kh Joykishan alleged that such question is made to cast political influence on students. There is the need to inquire for what was the need for such questions.”

COHSEM chairman L Mahendra Singh said that he got in touch with the controller of examination. “The examination controller informed that the questions were set from the ambit of ‘Party System in India’ one of the prescribed political science syllabuses,” Mahendra said.

CPI national executive member Moirangthem Nara expressed displeasure over the questions and said this move will give political colour to education system.
