NTA seeks MHRD approval to conduct CET for DAVV admissions

NTA seeks MHRD approval to conduct CET for DAVV admissions
INDORE: National Testing Agency (NTA) is awaiting approval of ministry of human resource development (MHRD) to conduct Common Entrance Test (CET) of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV).
The varsity is rooting for NTA to conduct the online entrance test. But before getting aboard, the agency has decided to take MHRD approval as entrance test of DAVV is conducted on a smaller scale as compared to entrance tests that the agency regularly conducts.
It has already been over a fortnight that the varsity had written to the agency for conducting the entrance test.
However, the agency will revert only after getting approval from the ministry, media spokesperson of DAVV, Dr Chandan Gupta told TOI.
“We are constantly in touch with the agency. We expect a reply in one week,” he added.
The varsity is expecting that NTA will get a heads-up from ministry and as the agency also prepares the question paper. DAVV will only have to provide the course, number of questions and format to conduct the computer-based test.
Recently when the varsity had conducted doctoral entrance test (DET), there were complaints that Ordinance 14 was not followed while framing some questions. Such issues won’t crop up if the agency makes the question paper, said vice chancellor Dr Renu Jain.
“We have decided that we will not go for any private agency for CET,” she said.
In case agency doesn’t get approval, MP Online is the second option for the varsity.
