Bengaluru: New service road between Jalahalli and Nagasandra metro stations
BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has floated a tender to develop a new service road between Jalahalli and Nagasandra Metro stations on the Green Line.
"Service Road in lieu of area taken from NHAI for Phase 1 viaduct. In absence of road formation, people and hawkers were encroaching," said a senior BMRCL official.
Work will be taken up at a cost of Rs 8.37 crore and is likely to be completed in 12 months.
Tender is likely to be finalised by the end of this month. Separately, a tender floated for diversion of rain water down take pipe for piers and water proofing painting on pier cap top surface in Line 2.

Metro elevators

US-based Otis Elevator Co on Monday said it has been selected to provide 112 Gen2 elevators for Phase II of Metro project. Otis, a unit of United Technologies Corp, will supply the elevators from its local manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.
Japanese firm gets Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 head hardened rails contract

Japan-based Mitsui & Co has received the contract to supply head hardened rails (HH-Rails) for the Phase 2 project. These special tracks will be 60E1 – 1080 grade as per Indian Railway Specification T-12-2009. Mitsui had also received Ahmedabad Metro’s Phase 1 project.
