Leicester City Expert Names The Top Candidate To Replace Injured Ndidi & It's Not Choudhury
Published: February 24, 2020In a question and answer session with Leicester City fans, LeicestershireLive reporter Jordan Blackwell has identified the top candidate to replace Wilfred Ndidi in the Foxes starting line-up should the holding midfielder fail to recover for their upcoming games.
The Nigeria international has missed the last three consecutive matches contested by Brendan Rodgers' side after suffering a relapse of his knee injury that required operation last month.
Though Hamza Choudhury has mostly been used as Ndidi's back-up, Blackwell believes Dennis Praet should be ahead of the former England U21 international in the pecking order of defensive midfielders.
On the chances of Praet knocking James Maddison and Youri Tielemans out of the starting line-up, Blackwell said : "The only issue I have is that I think Tielemans and Maddison have higher ceilings. In that when they’re are in top form, they can have better games than Praet can.
"And, I don’t think Praet quite has the ability to split defences like the other two.
"But, while Ndidi is out injured, I think there’s a possibility that Praet keeps the defensive midfield role ahead of Choudhury, even now he’s back from suspension."

Of the six Premier League matches Ndidi has missed through injury this season, Leicester City have managed to win only once and that was against Sheffield United in August.
