23 roads in Aurangabad to be constructed by three agencies

AURANGABAD: The state government has sanctioned Rs 152.24 crore for the construction of 23 roads in the city and stated that instead of putting the onus only on one entity, the responsibility of constructing roads is to be shouldered by the MIDC, the MSRDC and the civic administration.
Of the 23 roads approved for construction, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has taken up construction of seven roads — the list of which was published on Tuesday — Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will construct nine roads and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will be working on seven roads and a bridge.
The MIDC has floated a tender worth Rs 41 crore for the construction of the roads. AMC issued a tender on Monday. Altogether, the three agenies have floated tenders worth Rs 135 crore.
The MIDC will take up construction of roads in Connaught Place, the stretch from MGM-Raj Heights to Cidco N-5 ESR, API Corner to Kalagram via Prozone Mall, and API corner to N-1 Police Chowki via Cidco bus stand. MIDC will carry out widening of the stretch from Sai Medicity Hospital to survey number 153 Harsul, Cidco N-3 Sai Transport to Shivnath Rathi’s residence in Cidco N-4 via Shiv Chhatrapati College, Greaves Cotton to Jai Bhawani Chowk to Naregaon via Anil Chemical, and Piya Market to City Chowk via Surana Building road.
The AMC will lay bitumen on the stretch from Wockhardt to Jai Bhawani Chowk-Naregaon, railway station to Tirupati Enclave, Jalgaon Road to Hotel Ajanta Ambassador, Agrasen Chowk to central excise office and Hotel Amarpreet to Ekta Chowk. The concretisation of roads from Hotel Dipali to Jai Bhawani Nagar chowk and Mukundwadi railway station, Pundalik Nagar water tank to Cidco N-3 Kamgar Chowk, Bhawani petrol pump in Cidco N-2 to C Sector Thackeray Nagar, Mahalaxmi Chowk to Lokshahi colony and bitumen layering of the railway station flyover will also be done by the civic body.
