Lanarkshire always seems to get the worst of the weather - and that was proven last night as Airdrie Ladies clash with Ayr was called off.

With the Diamonds leading 2-1 going after 70 minutes, the referee decided to abandon the game as snow began to lie at the Penny Cars Stadium.

In a statement on social media, the Ladies said: "Well done to everyone involved, especially in those terrible conditions."

Airdrie are still waiting if the score in the SWF Championship clash will be upheld. News is expected from Scottish Women's Football chiefs this week.
