22 of marriage party hurt as jeep collides with parked lorry in Nalanda
BIHARSHARIF: At least 22 persons of a marriage party sustained injuries on Sunday morning, when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a parked lorry near Jayprakashpur Bhedia village under Noorsarai police station area in Nalanda district.
The injured persons, including 17 women and three minor girls, were admitted to Noorsarai and Chandi primary health centres (PHCs). Two critically injured were sent to PMCH, a police officer at Noorsarai police station said.
The two seriously injured were identified as Ram Pravesh Sao and Krishna Sao.
He said Ram Pravesh of Soradih under Harnaut police station was returning home with his relatives after attending his son’s wedding at a Biharsharif temple late Saturday night. “The driver of the jeep lost control and hit the parked lorry. He said the newlywed couple and some other relatives were safe as they travelled by separate vehicles,” he said.
