Ayurveda resort in Kollam closed down, guests to be monitored

Kollam: To ensure vigil against the spread of Covid-19, revenue authorities on Tuesday closed down Maithry Ayurvedic resort and homestay at Chirakkara near Chathannur where 42 tourists, including those from Covid-19-hit countries were lodged for the past few days.
Following reports that foreigners from Covid-19-affected countries were staying there, a team led by deputy collector Sumeethan Pillai, who holds the charge of RDO, sealed the resort and homestay.
The resort was unauthorized and had no licence to accept foreigners as guests, said Pillai, adding that people who stayed there would be quarantined at the resort for 14 days to ascertain if any of them contracted the virus.tnn
