Engineering student dies in Madurai road accident
A 20-year-old student studying at a private engineering college was fatally run over by a Madurai Corporation garbage truck at Villapuram on Wednesday.
MADURAI: A 20-year-old student studying at a private engineering college was fatally run over by a Madurai Corporation garbage truck at Villapuram on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Karthikeyan P of Thallakulam. He was a third-year mechanical engineering student.
The accident happened when Karthikeyan was on his way to Kariapatti. As he was crossing Meenakshi Nagar at Villapuram, the truck hit his two-wheeler and ran over him.
The Avaniyapuram police registered a case and started a hunt for the truck driver who was absconding.
