SCR installs new passenger info system at Anakapalle stn

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) installed a new passenger information system at Anakapalle station in Vijayawada division that shows the estimated arrival time of the trains at the station based on real-time location of the trains.
Known as ‘At a Glance’ display boards, the system also provides a facility for the operator to modify the data instantly in case of emergencies, while providing information about all the trains expected at the station in the next two hours.“The real-time information will be provided by taking continuously updated data automatically from the Centralized Railway Information System server from time to time. The information is provided in Telugu, English and Hindi,” read an official release from SCR.
A passenger arriving at the station can identify all the trains coming to the station in the next two hours from the display along with their expected time of arrival and location of the coach from engine as the entire train composition is depicted in a graphical way. “This new system can also be used for displaying additional information about amenities available at the station and about their location on the platform," said the release.
