Dstrict collector invokes imposes crisis management act in Yavatmal

Yavatmal: Yavatmal district collector MD Singh has imposed the Crisis Management Act in the district from Wednesday. He has designated the district civil surgeon Dr Tarangtushar Warey and district health officer Dr Balasaheb Chavan as the coordinators of the committee.
A toll-free no. 104 has been set up to gather information and get the public updated on coronavirus. No. 91-11-23978046 is also operative from Wednesday in the collectorate.
Singh has empowered the district coordinators to take instant action against chemists who sell masks at an inflated cost and indulge in black marketing of essential medicines. The officers are also empowered to take immediate action against those found guilty of spreading fake messages and creating panic among the people regarding the coronavirus.
“We may use the services of private hospitals and doctors in case of any emergency,” Singh stated in a release.
