RRB NTPC Exam: After fixing of ECA, dates for Group D examinations will be announced, says Railways Minister

NEW DELHI: Over one lakh candidates have been empanelled through the Railway Recruitment Board in the last three years, the government informed Parliament on Wednesday.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, to a question asked by Chandra Prakash Choudhary seeking the details of the total number of recruitments made by the Railways through the Railway Recruitment Board during the last three years, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said three recruitment examinations against Centralized Employment Notifications (CEN) are in process to be conducted in the coming months.

"During the last three years, from 2017-2018 to 2019-2020 (up to March 5), a total number of 1,47,620 candidates have been empanelled for various Group 'C' posts (including Level-1) by Railways through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs)," he said in Parliament.
Question: Whether there is any region/State-wise criteria for recruitment in Indian Railways through Railway Recruitment Board and if so, the details thereof?
Piyush Goyal: No, Sir. Indian Railways is an organization having pan India character. Candidates are free to apply to any RRB throughout the country in response to the advertisements.
Question: The details of the recruitment exams that have not been conducted during last year despite issuing notifications therefore?
Piyush Goyal: Three recruitment examinations against Centralized Employment Notifications (CEN) No. 01/2019 for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Group,
CEN No. 03/2019 for Ministerial & Isolated Categories and CEN No. RRC-01/2019 for Level-1 posts (erstwhile Group 'D'), are in process to be conducted in the coming months.
Question: The reasons for not conducting the exams despite issue of notification of exam for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Group and Group 'D' and action taken to start conducting these exams on time?
Piyush Goyal: To fix Examination Conducting Agency (ECA) against CEN No. 01/2019 and 03/2019, open tenders have been floated. After fixing of ECA, dates for the examinations will be announced. For CEN No. RRC-01/2019, tendering process for engaging vendor is under way.
Question: The total number of people from the State of Jharkhand who joined the Indian Railways during the last three years?
Piyush Goyal: A total number of 6551 candidates from Jharkhand have been empanelled by all RRBs and RRCs for appointment on Indian Railways/Production Units during the last three years.
There are about 1.26 crore applicants for 35,208 vacancies in non technical popular categories (NTPC). These include undergraduate and graduate posts varying from typist, clerk, time-keeper, station master and goods guard among others.
The exam conducting agency will be finalised by last week of April. The selected will conduct the three-stage recruitment test after scrutinising all applications. The recruitment is expected to be completed by March 2021.
