NEW DELHI: Delhi University has announced that it will set up a new girls' college at Fatehpur Beri village. The university has asked the general public to suggest names for the college.
In its notice, the university said that it was going to establish a girls' college at southwest Delhi's Fatehpur Beri village. The land was allotted to the university by the Delhi government in 2019.

The 40 bigha land in the village was allotted to DU on a 99-year lease in July for a college with hostel and sports facilities. DU informed that it has set up a new committee to suggest a suitable name for the proposed college. The committee, in its meeting, invited suggestions from the general public for the name.
The suggestions for the names may be sent to DU through the email address namkaran@du.ac.in within the next two weeks.
This new college will be the first-ever college in DU since colleges like Aryabhatta College and Dyal Singh Evening College were created after converting them from evening to morning colleges.
"Twelve new colleges were made in the 1990s and were under DU. After that, this will be the first college built in DU in over 20 years," said DU executive council member Rajesh Jha. Senior DU official Bipin Tewari informed that the college will be set in a permanently rural area and "it will be a state-of-the-art college for women of the adjoining areas and to provide them with opportunities."
