PRAYAGRAJ: A probe has been ordered into the case of a 22-year-old woman mysteriously falling from the terrace of her house in Georgetown during a police raid on Sunday morning. The woman is currently undergoing treatment at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital.
Senior police officers ordered a probe into the incident after it was alleged that the woman had allegedly fallen from the roof of her house when a police team raided her house on Sunday to nab her brother, who was wanted for mobile theft.

SP (city) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said the woman’s family has not yet filed a complaint regarding the incident.
According to reports, police reportedly detained one Shankar Lal from Allahpur area as they suspected him to be mobile phone thief. Lal was later handed over to Georgetown police for interrogation, but he managed to escape from the thana campus. After Lal fled, police raided his house and brought his father to the police station.
An hour later, police received the information that Lal’s sister had fallen from the terrace of her home and sustained serious injuries. Police rushed her to SRN Hospital.
However, senior police officials denied that any raids were conducted at the woman’s home and said that they were probing how the woman fell from the roof.
