For the first time in history, the largest temples in the state of Maharashtra closed for public darshan for an indefinite duration owing to the coronavirus pandemic. The Shirdi Sai Baba temple shut at 3.00pm Tuesday. Other nodal shrines like Tulja Bhavani, Osmanabad as well as the famous Shani temple of Shingnapur also debarred entry. The trustees of the Kolhapur Mahalakshmi temple are likely to announce a similar decision at 6.00pm.
