    CBSE postpones board exams in view of Covid-19 outbreak

    "While maintenance of academic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students who are appearing in various examinations as also of their teachers and parents," HRD secretary Amit Khare said in an official communication.

    "All the ongoing examinations, including CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)board exams, be postponed till March 31 and rescheduled thereafter," he added.
    The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today announced that all forthcoming board exams have been postponed until March 31 in view of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

    In a tweet, CBSE's official handle put out a circular stating that all ongoing board exams for classes X and XII have been postponed, both in India and abroad.

    Re-examinations for Northeast candidates will also be rescheduled.

    CBSE said in the note that it will reassess the situation and communicate fresh dates for exams by March 31.

    Ongoing evaluation of board exam papers have also been postponed. Supervisers can reschedule the evaluation to April 1 onwards, unless otherwise informed by the board.

    Covid-19 cases have hit more than 150 in India so far, with 3 people dying from it.
