Rajkot: Nilay Mehta, convicted of two murders and accused in four other murder cases, has confessed to have taken contract (supari) to kill Ahmedabad-based gun trader Udaisinh Bhadoria.
Based on Mehta’s confession, the Rajkot police on Wednesday arrested three key conspirators — Pradeepsinh Rajput, Kishor Koshti and Wasim Iqbal Kathiri— who had plotted to kill Bhadoria, said police.

Mehta was arrested on March 12, nearly a year after he had jumped parole, by the Rajkot crime branch.
“During interrogation, Mehta said that while he was in jaile under Prevention of Anti-Social Activities (PASA) Act, his co-prisoners — Rajput and Koshti — had given him supari (contract) to kill Bhadoria. The arms and ammunition for this purpose were supposed to be provided by Kathiri,” said H M Gadhvi, inspector with the Rajkot crime branch. While Rajput and Koshti were arrested from Ahmedabad, Kathiri was nabbed from Jasdan in Rajkot district by a team led by Rajkot rural crime branch inspector M N Rana. Mehta is accused in a total of 34 cases. Of these cases, six pertain to murder, while the rest of the cases pertain to robberies.
Rajput has been booked by Ahmedabad police in nine offences ranging from physical assault, molestation to faluting of the Prohibition Act.
Koshti faces six cases pertaining to burglary, robbery and criminal intimidation in Ahmedabad, while Kathiri is involved in 18 crimes ranging from attempt to murder and physical assault to arms trafficking registered against him in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Amreli and Jasdan police stations.
