Some of India's great railway stations are tourist attractions in their own right. Here are few favourites that are a feast for the eye.
MUMBAI CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ TERMINAL, INDIA
Once known simply as the Victoria Terminus, Mumbai's UNESCO-registered Gothic-Revival-styled architectural marvel can easily be mistaken for government headquarters from the outside. Although its grandeur is only external: inside it's a blizzard of humanity, some of it on wheels.

    CUTTACK RAILWAY STATION
The unique facade of Cuttack Railway Station makes it an architectural masterpiece in every sense. It is considered as one of the top 100 booking stations of the Indian Railway in terms of booking volume. The architecture of the station resembles that of the Barabati Fort, a grand historic monument that was built during the reign of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty.

    CHARBAGH RAILWAY STATION
Enveloped by beautiful gardens, the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow is considered to be the most beautiful railway station our country. Charbagh Railway station with its enormous scale and majestic facade can easily be mistaken for a grand palace. Awadhi, Rajput and Mughal architectural aesthetic are fused together for this masterpiece. Another interesting feature of railway station is the aerial view; it seems to appear like a chess board from top view with its pillars and domes resembling pieces of the chess board.

    HOWRAH JUNCTION
The Howrah Junction is rendered unique due to its facade and location. The stately red building sits on the banks of Hooghly River. The junction was initially designed by George Turnbull and was redone by Halsey Ricardo in 1905, a British architect.
