Thane: Private company owner booked for 'anti-corona' mattress advertisement

BHIWANDI: The owner of a private company was booked for issuing a misleading newspaper ad claiming that his company's mattresses could cure Covid-19.
Narpoli police in Bhiwandi filed an FIR after the state health department learnt about the ad and approached the police. An official said Amar Parekh of Arihant Mattresses had the ad printed on March 13, about an 'anti-corona' mattress.
Rajkumar Shinde, Thane DCP (zone II), said a show cause notice was served to Parekh after registering an FIR. He added that after Parekh replied, further action would be taken against him.
