PRAYAGRAJ: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has suspended classes at all its schools across 25 regions in India and at an institution each in Kathmandu, Moscow and Tehran till March 31 amid the growing coronavirus threat.
A letter signed by joint commissioner (headquarters) E Prabhakar and addressed to deputy commissioners of all KV regions harps on precautions that need to be taken for the safety of students, teachers and their family members in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“All KV principals are, hereby, instructed to comply with the necessary guidelines. Schools will be closed for students and teachers while office staff and the principal may come as usual,” Prabhakar told TOI. Teachers must stay connected with their respective schools via other mediums and cooperate in case of an emergency, the letter adds.
While classes will remain suspended till March 31, ongoing exams will be rescheduled thereafter. Evolution work being conducted at over 1,200 KVs across the country will also be slated after March 31.
