Covid-19: Teachers in Chandigarh allowed to work from home till March 31

CHANDIGARH: After rolling back its earlier order of work from home on Thursday, UT education department on Friday issued an official order allowing teachers of schools and colleges in UT Chandigarh to work from home up to March 31. The School Teachers will prepare the results, undertake evaluation work (non-CBSE) from home in this time, the order read.
"Teaching Staff of Schools and colleges have been allowed to work from home and may remain in touch with School and students over phone, online, social media and when required," Rubinderjit Singh Brar director school and higher education UT Chandigarh shared.

However the Head of the School, College and Institution will have to ensure their own presence along with the presence of one staff member from teaching faculty as per requirement.
Various other guidelines were issued to take preventive measures to check further spread of COVID-19 for the Non-Teaching (ministerial) staff working in Schools and Colleges in UT Chandigarh. These have been made applicable with immediate effect.
Non-teaching (Ministerial) staff working in Schools are allowed to put on duty on rotation basis in such a manner that not more than 50% of staff attended the duty subject to minimum one ministerial staff member for at least three hours on working days.
Non-Teaching (Ministerial) staff working in Colleges shall also be put on duty on rotation basis upto 50% subject to minimum of 3 members from Ministerial staff for minimum 3 hours 01 working days.

During this time none of the staff members will leave the Station without the prior permission of the competent authority, authorities shared. "Head of the Institution, Head of the Department can call any or all staff members in case of urgent requirement. The staff members shall ensure that they are available on Mobile phone," the order read.
It was further stated that during this period teachers of schools and colleges will trained regarding COVID 19.
